EXCERPT FROM
"Corruption: A symposium. Chapter XXVI"
From a distance, the
highly armored man appeared to be fiddling with his greaves. As I
approached, it was apparent he was trying to remove an over crowded key
ring from one of his many belt pouches. The keys stood out at
impossible angles. The gauntly featured high elf mumbled something
obscene in a slurred tongue. Then he saw me.
"You should not
sneak up on a man like that, traveller!", he snapped. A
strange grey aura swirled above his shoulders, settling and finally
disppearing on his darkened armor. The high elf's eyes narrowed as
he looked me up and down. Just as suddenly, his eyes softened.
"How rude of me.
My name is Sullen, Minor Liegeman to the Emperor. While away on
imperial business, my Foxhole fell into the trance of a strangely
corrupted aura. By the time I was able to round up some
individuals for study, the corruption had spread further and grown much
stronger than I had anticipated. It is only a matter of time before it
escapes and spreads throughout the empire."
Sullen's eyes narrowed
again, as he looked me up and down - again they softened.
"You look the adventurous type. The dust on your boots, the
scuffs in your clothing.. and those aura's. You are a strong
one," Sullen said. "Perhaps you would be interested in some
work? I need someone to investigate the corruption within my
Foxhole."
