This is my favorite dungeon, and
was by far the most fun to build and test. Once inside you will notice
the double sized walls, floors, crates and - GIANTS! The entrance to
the Temple of Destruction is located just northwest of the stronghold
Falasmaryon, in the ashlands.
My goal for the Temple of
Destruction was to create a linear progression though a zone that uses
keys to open new areas. Upon entering you are immediately struck by
the frosty mist that permeates the entire dungeon. Giant rats guard
the first branch of hallway that leads to a living quarters inhabited
by frost giants. This first encounter area is large, with two locked
doors in the distal end. The key to unlock these doors is found one of
the giants. Good luck finding which one!
The second area, once breached, is
a temple guarded by hoards of undead, as well as several giants. Once
these have been cleared, or circumvented, a locked door forces you
towards your only choice: to click into an enclosed area guarded by a
boss skeleton, who carries the key used to escape the trap you just
entered. Once past this, you enter a forgotten series of dusty
hallways. Somewhere in here you will find the key to the locked door
that forced you into this place.
The third area is a series of
burial chambers, and climaxes with an encounter with the guardian to
the Citadel of Entropy. The citadel is the zone past the Temple of
Destruction, and is only partially finished at this time. It furthers
the keyed progression design found in the temple, and is playable.
Enjoy!
