(and everyone knows that was fixed). This year marked the finest in every caption. The Colour Guard was flawless, the Horn Line was big, loud and superb, and the Drum Line was in all aspects the best. We had instructors that gave up time and money, (mainly time), to make sure that the other Drum Corps looked at us in envy, and look they did.

The year of 1978 also was our first tour. We visited Chicago, Illinois, home of the Firemen Drum Corps. We were supposed to be the guests of the Shaumberg Guardsmen but they were having doubts on wether there would be such a corps when we got there. After many competitions and randsackings[sic] we came home to start our 1979 season.

The 1979 season was very prosperous. We again won every competition we entered but one, and that was provincials. We did as well as the year before with one exception, we were better. We won the "C" class National Champioship[sic] again, and we were bigger than ever.

The instructors gave their all to make sure that we were the best in the business, and we were.

I can only hope that the 1980 season is as successful as the seasons before. We are bigger than ever and have another great staff of hard working instructors to see us through. Whether we win or lose, it will be done with CLASS all the way.

THE BEAR FACTS
-----------------------------------

In the months of November and December the corps was hard at work on a money raising effort. Selling citrus fruit turned out to be very profitable. The campaign will be one of many ways the corps is trying to raise money to go to England in 1980. Since the winter season has arrived the corp will not be doing too much except getting ready for the busy schedule of the upcoming summer.
