The corps went straight onto the field.

All of the waiting was apparently worth it. We came off with a 67 point first place, getting best Horn Line and best Guard.

After a short celebration Paul was so happy, he asked the corps if they wanted to compete in Simcoe in the 1980 season.

CONTEST #9 - AUGUST 11TH - BRAMALEA

The "Nitty-Gritty-Brama-Ching-Wing-Ding". Why they couldn't think of a simpler name is a mystery!

The short (6 mile) parade started the day as usual. However, this years' parade had a different twist to it. It seemed that the parade (un) organizer thought it would be a great idea for the drum corps' to march one behind the other. Imagine the insanity that could develop with corps members if this happened? Finally, Paul stepped in and got the parade on the road - the show comes next. (Ar! Ar!)

A short but productive rehearsal put everyone in the right mood (state of mind). We pulled ouselves together, with lots of help from our instructors, and went and did a bang-on show. So much so indeed that we scored a 76.2, the highest score this year. We went home with a feeling of satisfaction and still a determination to beat an 80 score. As in impact '78.

CORPS THROUGH CAMERA ....

"How can I get the corps to perform better...........? Hummm!"

"...around & around it goes. A pinch of this...a dash of that.........."

"...and they drank the whole thing.......And look at them march!!!"
