Frances and Neil Purslow are the founding partners of Purslow Communications Inc.

Frances Purslow

Frances graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Education. She subsequently taught in the public school systems in Manitoba and Alberta, acquiring her permanent teaching certificate in both provinces.

In 1991, Frances decided to pursue a writing career and took courses to achieve that goal. Since then, her career as a communications contractor has been diverse. Her experience ranges from writing and editing technical documents to script-writing for computer-based training courses. Frances has also written, edited, and coordinated numerous publishing projects for the educational sector. She has authored a guidebook to Calgary and developed and taught a writing course for the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT).

Frances is a member of Access Copyright, The Canadian Copyright Licensing Agency, and Calgary Association of Freelance Editors (CAFE).

Neil Purslow

Neil is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) who worked in the western Canadian oilpatch in a number of different business capacities, in locations ranging from producing fields to head office.

Neil has extensive experience writing and editing technical documents for the oil and gas and telecommunications industries. His experience ranges from writing and editing technical documents and computer system operational manuals to web site development and content writing. As well, he is the Canadian Field Editor for the CompressorTech Two magazine and writes periodicals for other business publications. In the educational sector, he has edited several student textbooks and teachers’ resource manuals for Alberta science and Ontario biology programs. He also researched and wrote several reference books for a variety of library series for grades four to six.

Neil is currently a member of Access Copyright, The Canadian Copyright Licensing Agency, Calgary Association of Freelance Editors (CAFE), Society of Technical Communicators (STC), and the Society of Management Accountants for Alberta and Canada.
