This photgraph was taken in the Red Sea at Ras Mohammed on the Sinai peninsula in Egypt.

This area of Egypt has some of the most spectacular dive sites you can find anywhere in the world. The most popular being Sharm El Sheik and Hurgada. My favourite is Dahab halfway between Eilat in Israel in the north and Sharm in the south.

Dahab does not offer any of the services you can expect at Sharm, but it does have the Canyon, and the Blue Hole. The Canyon is a dive through a cavern that descends vertically and exits through a small opening at about 55 meters (180 feet). The Blue hole is a truly amazing dive, where you enter the Blue hole from the shore and descend to the opposite side to about 65 meters, where a massive archway leads to the open sea and the outside of the Blue hole. Needless to say, these dives are for technical divers only.
