Rabbits For Adoption

The rabbits to the right are just some of the hundreds available at the Small Animal Rescue Society of BC (SARS BC). There are literally more rabbits than there are homes. SARS-BC alone has over a 150 rabbits currently in foster care. Many of the people who foster rabbits provide care for several rabbits at a time as there aren't enough foster homes to go around. Compounding the situation are the hundreds of rabbits throughout the GVRD that are housed in various local shelters and other rescue organizations along with dozens of rabbits being surrendered or requiring new homes each and every day.

These rabbits have been abandoned, abused or just simply unwanted as a result of people being unable to care for them or unexpected pregnancies. There are Netherland Dwarf, Holland Lop, Mini Lop, Dutch, Lion Head, Mini Rex, Rex, New Zealand White, Florida Whites, Flemish Giant, French Lops...you name it, they probably got it. The rabbits range from the very young to the very old. There are healthy rabbits and rabbits requiring special needs.

If you want a rabbit or are thinking of getting a rabbit. Stop! Think About It! Ask Questions! And when you are absolutely sure you are able to make a minimum 10 year commitment to a rabbit .... PLEASE ADOPT A SHELTER RABBIT!.

Featured Rabbit Rescue

The Small Animal Rescue Society of BC (SARS BC) is a provincially & federally registered non-profit organization comprised of volunteers and services throughout British Columbia/Canada.

Their primary focus is to rescue and rehome small animals in need with neglected, injured and abandoned animals being their primary focus. Unfortunately at this time they can only consider taking in "owner surrendered" animals if there is a foster home available.

They do not have a physical shelter at this point and rely on a network of volunteer foster parents to take care of the animals in their homes.

SARS BC was founded in October 2004 and has since found around 300 forever homes for small animals in need and currently have many more in rescue who are patiently waiting for their turn to find a wonderful new home.
