October 14 - 15 2006
Freeze Off

It is a day for fighting, friends, fun and of course, feasting!
Come join us for the XIX Annual Freeze-off Tournaments and Banquet.
This year we will be enjoying a Hungarian Banquet with a decadent dessert buffet,
with classes and merchants, contests and so much more.

Tournaments

Our Annual Heavy Tournament will, of course, feature everyone's favorite
"Wacky Weapons". Come watch fighters as they choose their attack and
defense weapons from the most unexpected pile of items. No one knows who
will be fighting against whom, or what either of them will be using, until
the time of pairing. Fighters from far and wide will impress the crowd with
their skill, prowess, and yes, a true sense of humor, as they battle for the
title of Freeze-off Heavy Champion. (Saturday morning)

If archery is your chosen skill venture out and compete in the Second Annual Frozen Bow Archery Tournament.

Partake in one of the oldest arts still practiced today in this PRIZE
"Target Archery" Tourney. So, wax your bows and check your flights and test
your mettle against others who have a love for target archery. The
tournament will be governed by An Tir Target Archery rules. (Late Saturday
morning)

Ramsgaard feels that the smallest members of our shire and those of visiting
shires deserve a tournament of their own as well. Therefore, if you are a
mini-knight in training, or a youth wanting to practice some fighting
skills, come and join the First Annual Blue Glacier Tournament. This blue
helm (a soft foam helmet and sword) tournament will be fought in two age
categories. Little Snowflakes category for 5-9 year olds and the Mountain
Peak category for youth 10-15 years old. All children and youth will have
to have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian to participate in this PRIZE
tournament. (Saturday afternoon)

We are pleased to continue the newest tournament-the Second Annual Frosted
Lily Rapier Tournament on Sunday morning. This will once again provide
rapier fighters the opportunity to show their skill and flair while
competing for the title of Freeze-off Rapier Champion. Details are
promising to live up to our Shire's usual standards of fine fighting and
challenges. Of course, like so many Rapier tournaments, it will be sure to
honor the inspiration of the fighters on the frosted field. (Sunday
morning)

Feast

This year we will be serving a Hungarian inspired feast and delectable
dessert buffet. Family recipes are being used for this mouth-watering meal.
A cash bar will be open for those over the legal age, to enjoy. Modern laws
dictate that no outside alcohol be on premises. All modern laws will be
enforced. In the case of medical issues, our Feast-o-crat will make every
effort to see that your special dietary needs are met. Please contact her
prior to October 6, 2006 with this information, and/or include it with your
pre-registration. Please note that due to allergy restrictions for many of
the kitchen staff, there will be NO TREE NUTS USED in any of the dishes.
When the menu is finalized, it will be posted on the Shire's event website.
Watch for it!

As with every banquet for the past sixteen years, we will be having a Bardic
Tournament, which will provide entertainment during the feast.
Check Ramsgaard's event website for further details regarding categories.

All merchants are welcome! A donation for the silent auction (min. value
required-please contact Autocrat) is the merchant fee. Space inside or
outside is at your disposal. Please Note: Inside space is limited. Please
contact the Autocrat for more information. If you would like the populace
to know that you will be attending our event, please send a brief
description of your wares to the Autocrat, and it will be added to the Shire
Event web page.
