TEAM SWUNK NEWS

2 Out of 3 ain't bad.

Well, like the song says, 2 out of 3 ain't bad.  But if it was 2 WINS and a SECOND, then it would be AWESOME!!  That's right, don't worry about rubbing yours eyes or pinching yourself.  It ain't no dream!!  The Razor has finally stood atop the podium!!  And to be it all he stood there for all 3 races.  It was a spectacular day today as the sun was shining and so was our Team Swunk Racers.  The race was held at a new track facility in Langley, and the layout was obviously to our teams liking.  Things started off well as our racers got a lot of practice time due to the fact that we had the track ALL DAY.   So with lots of practice laps, and having a NEW MANAGER for this particular race, our racers seemed very up to the task at hand.

With the Razor and the Hornet doing well in qualifying, they got themselves up to the front row for the main heats.  In the first race of the day, the STOCK 80 class, the Hornet and Razor had a little trouble in the start.  But after the first lap, were running 1,2.  With his head down, the Razor pulled out all the stops, literally, and continued to finish the race, wire to wire.  A first, but Razor thought, not his last.  The Hornet tried his best to keep up to his teammate, but let a rider slip by him after a couple of laps and held off the field to capture 3rd and yes folks, the Hornet got a taste of the podium.  We were all wondering how those pigs were flying...  Ah yes, the Razor won and the Hornet finished 3rd.

Well believe it or not, it was sure hot up here on earth, but it sure must have been cold down in HE.. cause in the MODIFIED 50 class it was the same story.  Only a lot better ending.  The Razor had a much better start and got the holeshot.  He then went on to win the race again, wire to wire.  The Hornet must have had a great start as well as he held off the rest of the field to finish 2nd.  It was a happy day for Team Swunk and it only took 3 years to gel and get that winning performance that they had dreamed about.  Like I said, someone was freezing today.

In the GP OPEN, the Razor couldn't keep up the front runner.  Well, his bike was super fast.  The Razor however did manage to pull away from the field and finish a flawless 2nd.  As for the Hornet, he must have been watching those pigs.  Actually, he got caught up on the back corners when a rider went down in front of him.  He tried to get out of the way, but when you hot on someone's tail and the go down in front of you, its easier said than done.  He tried to get back in the race, but the bike didn't seem to want to go.  That's ok Hornet, give yourself a pat on the back for a great day at the track.

Just to let you know, Shayne was the replacement Manager for today's race.  Team Swunk would like to say that they are in no way, shape or form deciding on replacing any of the current Managers that they have in place.  They are just greatful when either Manager shows up to help our riders in their winning ways.

Great job guys, I didn't think this day was going to happen.  Silly me,  LOL.  The riders showed great poise and we should be proud of their accomplishments.  To bad for you fans that didn't show up.  You missed some great racing.  Don't miss next race.  I believe it will be the same spot in about 3 weeks.  June 30th.  Keep posted.  Will keep youz up todate on actual race day.
