Saturday Qualifying and Race

IS THAT WOOD?

After Friday's practice session, our Dynamic Duo was not so dynamic.  The Hornet still feeling the affects of his off roading excursion.  His arm a little sore and his head pounding.  As for the Razor, his legs and arms (especially his shoulder) were very sore from the 5 hours of practice.  The morning started off cloudy but by qualifying it all burned off and was a beautiful hot August day.  The qualifying went well all except for the 80 GP Class.  This year I have to say was a year where most thought "FUN" was thrown out the window and "WIN" was the only purpose they were there.  One team had full sponsorship.  And if that wasn't enough, that team had a something like a 9-11 yr old racing on that bike.  This bike was fast, and that kid was fast too.  Just not to bright.  Unfortunately for our Dynamic duo, they found out the hard way.  During the 80GP class, as the Razor was coming around turn 8, he saw the Hornet in the dirt.  Then, with one lap to go in the qualifier, the Razor saw the leader coming up on him in the last turn. Well, I caught up with the Razor and here's what he had to say, "#*&@#$@#!!#, setting that aside.  I could see the leaders gaining on me as I was coming around the carousel.  They were almost upon me as I rounded turn 10 and heading into turn 11 the last turn before the front straight.  I was wondering if they or at least one of them was going to show me a wheel before the "there is no way you can fit zone".  They didn't so I was committed to make the turn.  I was in the apex of the turn, knee down when all of a sudden I see this yellow bike's front tire go under my leg then T bone me and take me down.  I was pissed to say the least."  Well, I'm sure he had other thoughts as well but we won't go there.  Later they checked out the bike and no damage to the bike.  That was a good thing.  As for the Hornet, we found out that it was the same rider that forced his way in turn 7 and forced the Hornet off the track.  After that, the Hornet was not in race mode and just wanted to have fun with out being "taken out" by some kid.

Now I know what you are saying.  But where did all our positive energy go?  Well, the Razor tried to pull up his socks in the Main events but could only muster up a couple of top 5 finishes.  I think what happened was all of you were thinking more about Canada instead of our 2 riders.  Needless to say, your energy was well used as another of our Canadian riders won 2 other events and another Canadian rider took home a second and 3rd.  So Canada did get wood.  As for our Dynamic Duo, the only "WOOD" they got on Saturday is what they woke up with.
