Festival Hall

View of the Festival Hall's Mezzanine with Spiral Staircase.

Festival Hall is a unique and original space that can be used as a meeting place for your special event or cultural occasion.

It features a large three 3,750 sq. ft. facility with a dance floor of 1,225 sq. ft.. With a very high ceiling, four huge windows and a mezzanine that follows the full length of the building, Festival Hall has an unparallel ambience. It is not a typical Community Hall, as its rose coloured walls, dark blue ceiling and doors, and smoky-grey carpet create a unique and inviting atmosphere for any special occasion or event. The hardwood floor is accompanied by a raised area that can act as a stage. A large kitchen is available for food service and storage, although it is not equiped of licensed for food preperation.

For seated functions, our capacity is around 400, although we only have tables and chairs for a maximum of 300 people. Fot non-seated functions, our capacity is 525 people.

Historically it was a part of the Armoury; however, the former shooting range (now the Memorial Centre) was transformed into an assembly hall, it became a gymnasium, to be used by Lindsay Thurber Comprehensive High School.

In 1992, the Red Deer Cultural Heritage Society finally acquired Festival Hall. In the same vein of renovating the Cronquist House, they proceeded to renovate the old gymnasium and turned it into a warm and attractive community hall.
