Once the home of Rossland's dairy, Red Barn Lodge is well situated for its new role of providing a convenient base for your Summer and Winter outdoor adventures. With wilderness starting at the backdoor and spectacular views of Red Mountain and Mount Roberts from the front, the guesthouse is just 5 minutes by car from Red Mountain Ski Area and Blackjack Cross-Country Ski Area.

Rossland's downtown, with its great restaurants and stores, is just ten minutes away on foot. Trails lead from the yard into the backcountry for ski tours, snowshoeing, mountainbiking and walking on the many paths through the surrounding British Columbia Interior Cedar- Hemlock forest. The Trans-Canada Trail runs by just a couple of hundred yards away, through the Red Barn Lodge property. Golf packages available: a choice of six courses with priority tee off times.

The lodge is well situated in 13 acres of private grounds. Kids love all the space for sledding and building snow sculptures in winter and also the in-ground pool (available in July and August).

The Guesthouse

The guesthouse (once the old farmhouse) has three comfortable bedrooms, and a pull-out couch in the lounge, sleeping up to 8 people. In addition to the well equipped kitchen and full bathroom there is a lounge with TV, VCR, DVD, Stereo, telephone and a laundry.

Bed and Breakfast in the Barn

Bed and Breakfast rooms are located in our home, the renovated cowbarn just across the farmyard from the Guesthouse. The rooms have either a private or ensuite bathroom, in-floor heating and are comfortably furnished with antiques, artwork and curios from our travels around the world. Breakfast is served in the old hayloft with its superb views of the Rossland mountain panorama.

Our Commitment

Your hosts, Anthony and Helen, are both outdoor educators and will be happy to show you around the ski area or biking trails when they aren't working in the outdoors. Anthony is available for private telemark or downhill ski lessons which can be booked through Red Resort Snowsports School. We will be offering Telemark clinics for the 07/08 winter season.

Our food is local or organic where possible and we have our own chickens. We strive to support local businesses/organisations and have a small environmental footprint. We manage our 13 acres in an environmentally sensitive manner and provide recreational access to our community through the Kootenay Columbia Trails Society.

Wir sprechen Deutch, Parliamo Italiano, Nous parlons Francais and so can our Appenzeller Sennenhund dogs, Lucy, Arther and Emme (who are Swiss nationals!).
