Why FOODSAFE?

Provincial FOODSAFE Level 1               $70.00

FOODSAFE Level One is an eight-hour training course for foodservice operators, food handlers, kitchen staff and serving staff. The course is taught by Certified Red Seal Chef and FOODSAFE Instructor, Reg Burks, and the curriculum is presented through classroom instruction, slides, and video case studies. Participants learn how to handle and prepare food in a way that protects them and their customers from injury and illness. A student workbook is included.

The curriculum covers:

  • Foodborne illness- issues and prevention

  • Worker safety tips to prevent injury and disease

  • Personal health and hygiene

  • Safe procedures for receiving and storing

  • Preparing, serving, and dispensing food

  • Hand washing and dishwashing
