Nestled on a 162 acre farm in the hills near Salmon Arm, BC, The Dower Cottage welcomes womyn year round to a peaceful retreat where you can rest, relax and focus on yourself. Located in a private heritage log cottage, a queen sized bed, a tub to soak in, sitting area with private entrance and garden benches in the quiet fresh air await your arrival.

Soak for hours in the tub, enjoy breakfast in bed or on the patio beside the roses, and enjoy the quiet as you rest and re-call yourself. Your hostess will do her best to meet your nutritional needs or special diets. Please let us know what you need in advance.

A suggested stay has you arrive one evening, spend the next day and leave late the day after. If you only have one day to rest, you are invited to come and make it a day to remember. If you can stay longer we will be happy to accomade you. Rates: $149/day Cdn, taxes included. A gift basket on your arrival and all meals and Tea are included. A work program is in place that will allow local guests to work for part of the costs of a retreat. Please enquire if you would like to partake of this option.

Guests are invited to join us for special holiday events, teas and workshops. Our "Home for the Holly-days" celebration in December is offered exclusively to guests who have visited us in that year. Come "home" for an old fashioned country Christmas. RSVP

The Dower Cottage retreat is based in a smoke free farm home. There are dogs on the farm, but not in your area, and you can visit with them, or not, as you like. (You are welcome to bring your own small pet companion to share your stay.) Your hostess grows herbs, roses and Irises and breeds American Saddlebred horses. You are welcome to visit the gardens at any time; please arrange with your hostess if you wish to visit the horses up close. There are miles of trials to hike, walk or cross country ski on and wonderfully unique scenery to enjoy. Excellent fishing is nearby. The quiet will speak to your soul.

Womyn's Issues workshops are ongoing and a reading room is available. Tarot readings are held when requested. Spa treatments can also be arranged. Your Hostess is a herbal healer and is available to discuss issues of concern to you. Make an appointmet for Tea with her, or catch her on the run for an impromtu break.

Also on the premises is a Tea Shoppe open year round. Join us for "A cup of comfort in your day©" on Thursdays, or for one of the special holiday Teas throughout the year. Our Stress Release Teas are held bi-weekly. Reservations required for this Tea.
