From 1967 to 1972 he lived in Venice and Treviso, Italy.
He was already painting at that time.
In 1972, he arrived in Canada, where he was enrolled at C.W. Jefferys vocational
art school in Toronto. There he began studies in life drawing, sculpture,
printmaking and graphic design. In 1974 learns the art of scenic painting at CBC
Toronto.
He was accepted into the Ontario College of Art (OCA) in 1975, where he deepened
his knowledge in painting, foundry and printmaking; while working as a graphic artist.
In 1979 he received The Greenshields Foundation postgraduate scholarship, returns
to Venice and creates a series of large charcoals onpaper and a series of eleven linocuts about farmers' lives.
In 1986 he becomes head painter and art director on numerous film productions.
Also in 1986, creates the collaborative artists group Baramundos Photo Gallery,
with Mauro Iacobelli, Harry Punno and Richard Lemieux. Gallery show by Baramundos
at Gallery Seventy Six in Toronto, named by Christopher Hume , art critic of the
Toronto Star, as the best art show of the year, with David Hockney's
The Rake's Progress at Ontario Gallery of Art. Receives contract for design of
one of the exhibit galleries of the Ontario Pavillion for Expo '86, with Baramundos.
In 1987, Baramundos shows at the Fela Grünwald Gallery, Toronto,
where collectors begin purchasing his work. Other shows follow.
In 1989 moves to Vancouver and continues work in films, now as Production Designer.
In 1997 completes large murals for the new Vancouver Space Center. Paints in
San Miguel de Allende. Returns to show his 46 mexican canvases.
Shows 26 canvases in solo show at Portobuffolé ,Italy in 2001.
Ricardo's works can be found with private collectors in many countries around the world.
