Riff Randells Really Randall
By Yasser E. Bob
Imagine our surprise when the Riff Randells sent us answers to the questions we sent them last month. Then, imagine our surprise when the answers were funny. So, if you missed the Riff Randells last month you missed hot, funny, rocknroll babes.
GAK: Hypothetically, would the Ramones have had the same impact if guys with first names like Donald and Barry had been in the band?
RR: Yeah. Their first names really influenced our band. Especially Tommy. First names are the most influential thing to this band.
GAK: What if, hypothetically, hardcore giants Bad Brains named themselves after one of Donald's song's called "Brad's Brains"? Even if everyone knows guys named Brad aren't entirely "with it", would "they" have "been" "banned" in "D.C."?
RR: Hypothetically, no.
GAK: Hypothetically, would you have named your band the Riff Randells if that character in "Rock and Roll High School" was a fat, Italian mother who repeatedly hit Johnny on the head with a wooden spoon and yelled "Why-a-don-choo-getta-job-or-somthin'-ya-bigga-bum"?
RR: Yes. We would have chosen it even more, if that is possible, hypothetically.
GAK: Speaking of Johnny, would any of you hypothetically accompany him to a shooting range for target practice? (Johhny reportedly, is big on guns.)
RR: No. But we would accompany Johhny on a trip to your house, hypothetically.
GAK: Do any of you fantasize about hypothetically eating pizza on Joey Ramone's grave?
RR: No. But, we do hypothetically imagine that you have a pizza face.
GAK: Isn't that straying into hypothetical Misfits territory?
RR:No.
GAK: Hypothetically, if the Hanson Brothers had a leftover song called "Don't Call Dee Dee Daddy" and they offered it to you, would you cover it? How might you, in musicians terms, "make it your own"?
RR: Hanson who? No.
GAK: What's the story about the guy in the band who went crazy on your first tour?
RR: He was a surf nut and his surf was up!
GAK: Did I mention that I used to work with a guy named Randall who was a bit of an oddball?
RR: Oddball in the hypothetical sense?
GAK: What are the differences between the Randall I worked with and your band?
RR:There is no difference. We are the same dude you used to work with.
