Dewdney-Alouette Railway
Society's Model Railway

Admission is $2 for adults and $1 for children and seniors.
Maple Ridge is located about 40km east of Vancouver, on Highway 7 (Lougheed Highway). Museum direction signs are on Hwy 7 and the Haney Bypass.
The Museum is open to the general public for drop-in tours from 1 pm to 4 pm on Wednesdays and Sundays. In July and August the Museum is open Wednesday to Sunday from 1 to 4 pm. The Dewdney -Alouette Railway Society, located on the lower level has an HO scale 1930's CPR diorama on view when the museum is open.
On the last Sunday of every month, members of the Dewdney-Alouette Railway Society are present to "talk trains" and operate the Diorama. Model Railroaders are welcome on the Tuesday and Thursday evenings before the last Sunday of the month. The model railway club is building an HO scale layout with over 200 feet of mainline, and developing a historical artifact display, including CP Rail caboose #437115.

The western terminus of the Canadian Pacific Railway when Port Moody welcomed
Canada's first transcontinental train on July 4, 1886. Step back in time by
visiting the Museum, originally built by the CPR in 1905. Exhibits cover Port
Moody and area history back to prehistoric times. The museum's telegraph office
features an operational telegraph system, which is available for guests to try.

West Coast Railway Heritage Park ~ Squamish, B.C.

The West Coast Railway Heritage Park displays a collection of over 60 locomotives and rolling stock and innumerable artifacts on a 12 acre site in a setting of unmatched beauty. Included in the collection is a fullly restored 1890 CPR Business car, the only preserved Pacific Great Eastern steam locomotive and an beautifully restored CPR F unit. In the Park you will also see the Pacific Great Eastern car shop of 1914, the Brightbill house restored to its 1930's appearance when it was the home of a railway Conductor, and, the magnificent Squamish station designed in 1915 but not built until 1999! You will ride on a Miniature Railway which takes you to the various exhibits around the Park. Enjoy a snack from the "Beanery" and be sure to browse the extensive of gifts in the Station Gift store will probably meet volunteers at work restoring cars and locomotives, creating displays or conducting tours or operating the Miniature Railway. Over 100,000 people from all over the world have visited the Park since it opened just 7 short years ago. It truly is an attraction for the whole family with reasonable admission.
Former CP steam locomotive 2860 the 'Royal Hudson' is now preserved and on display at the Heritage Park.

You can walk through the picturesque Othello-Quintette Tunnels in the Coquihalla Canyon Provincial Park. The tunnels which line the Coquihalla River, were designed by Andrew McCullough and were built between 1911 and 1918. They were created in order to complete the Kettle Valley Railway and one of the most expensive pieces of railway ever built. There are four tunnels in all, which are carved from the solid granite of the 300 ft. Coquihalla Gorge. These tunnels are one of Hope's most popular attractions due to the beautiful setting and natural backdrop.
