Notes
Josef reportedly attended the University of Vienna and there became a learned
man. He spoke five different languages. He was a court clerk in Austria. Their
first three children were born in Bohemia. The family came to America in Oct.
1874 at New York. They went to Milwaukee to a farm on 48th & State St (Town of
Wauwatosa), which he leased. He worked at the Gettlemen Brewery for many years
. Became an American citizen July 18, 1906. Died of anterior sclerosis with
mycocardial incompetency in 1912. Josephina was his second wife.
