While reading (and rereading) the letters, I noticed quite a few names of Otego residents popping up again and again. I thought researchers who knew their ancestors had lived in Otego might want to know if their relative appears in the letters. If a name in a letter included both first and last name, it's listed below. If just the last name appeared I haven't included it (yet). The names with * occur more than once in the letters. I hope to have these letters searchable at some point. For now, if you find a relative's name below, read the letters written by Whitfield's sister, Tempe, and his mother. They lived in Otego their whole lives and kept Whit up to date with village gossip.
