This is a free service and is available through our McBride office only. Referrals are not required. You must be unemployed or underemployed (working less than 8 hours per week) to access this program.
Adult Literacy Most dictionaries define literacy as the ability to read and write. Today the definition has grown to include the ability to communicate using a wide range of resources, including text, visual, audio, and video sources. If you live in McBride and would like assistance improving your literacy, we can:
provide one-on-one tutoring help you establish goals for your learning identify your learning needs complete your high school education (GED) access outside education programs, such as correspondence courses or other learning aids.
The program also offers ESL* for those wanting to strengthen their language skills. *(English As A Second Language) Please contact our McBride office at 250-569-2266 to speak with our Adult Literacy Counsellor.
