For Women If you, or someone you know, has experienced emotional, sexual or physical violence, these programs can help. A women-centered model of counselling empowers women to make decisions that enhance their personal growth and well-being. We can:
provide emotional support assist you with understanding legal processes, such as custody orders help you develop a safety plan or plan your leave connect you to a transition house if you need to seek legal or medical attention out of the community advocate for your right to live without violence provide you with information and resources to help you make your own choices accompany you if you need to speak with the RCMP or attend court provide individual or group counselling help you address issues arising from victimization, such as depression, lack of self worth or health problems inform you of parenting issues related to children witnessing abuse in the home

For Children Children Who Witness Abuse Counselling addresses the exposure to negative family conflict in the home, as it can have a profound impact on the development of children and youth. Children often differ in the responses to violence. It is common for them to exhibit negative behaviors, such as aggression, eating difficulties, nightmares, fears and anxiety, depression, or learning difficulties. The CWWA Counselling Program is available for children and youth between ages 3 to 18 who have exposed to domestic violence. The program offers individual and group counselling for children and youth, as well as for caregivers. We can help children and youth to:
identify and express emotions in health ways understand that they are not responsible for the violence develop safety plans assist with grief, loss, and separation issues teach problem-solving and coping skills enhance self-awareness, self-concept, and self-worth. The goal of the Children Who Witness Abuse Program is to interrupt and break the cycle of intergenerational abuse by: directly helping children exposed to violence in relationships addressing their emotional and psychological needs developing parental awareness through violence prevention education
