Missed Classes

Your prepaid space is yours to do with as you wish but, there are no refunds for missed classes.  You may make up your missed classes on another day.  You can start doing this as soon as classes start in September (even before you miss them).  This process only works if each one of you gives me plenty of notice about your absence, so that others may use your empty space to make up their lost classes and vice-versa.  Less than 14 hours of notice will not entitle you to a make-up day because I don't want to phone anyone after 9 pm the night before (that only gives me 1 hour).  Most people have already made other plans and consequently the space gets wasted.

Please familiarize yourself with the calendar to help everyone, it is hanging above the coffee cups.  Mark yourself out as: :No ..(your name)... and sign-up in the right hand column to request a make-up space.  You must also keep count yourself.  Please remember this process is provided as a courtesy for you, and I need your help to make it work.

All classes must be made up by the end of May or before you quit, they can’t be carried to the next year.

An important reminder without prepayment absences are considered quitting and your space will be given to the next person waiting in line.

Care For Your Brushes

Brushes are your most valuable tools and are priced accordingly.  Treat them lovingly with great respect and they will last for many years.

Varnishing Your Paintings

If a painting is leaving you shortly after creation, when it is dry to the touch (3-4 weeks), apply 2 coats of RE-TOUCH varnish.

Only Use “Krylon “ –Kamar Varnish # 41312 Spray.  Too fresh to brush!!  The best protection is Final Varnish, which can only be applied 6 months to 1 year after it is finished.  This will seal your painting and protect its color.  Two coats, 24 hours apart, applied conscientiously while your painting lies flat.  Use a large soft brush.  “Damar” is a good kind.
