Men’s
Club Tournament FAQs
Who is eligible to play
in a Men’s Club Tournament?

You are eligible to play in
a Men’s Club Tournament if you are over the age of 19 and a Swan-e-set men’s
club member. Furthermore, to be eligible to play in team events and to
qualify for any net prizes, you must have a current registered RCGA
handicap factor.
What is a
current registered RCGA handicap factor?

If you are a
new member and have joined within the last 12 months from the date of
the tournament, you must meet one of the following criteria in order for
your handicap factor to be considered current:
If you are an existing member for more than 12 months, you
must have at least 20 rounds in the last 12 months from the date of the
tournament recorded in our handicap system.
Failure to meet the above criteria may
result in an adjustment of your handicap factor by the Handicap Committee.
It is your duty to demonstrate to the Handicap Committee that your handicap
factor is current.
Furthermore, the Handicap Committee
reserves the right to adjust a player’s handicap factor if the player fails
to provide full evidence of the player’s ability to the Handicap Committee,
or if the Handicap Committee deems the player falls under one of the
categories described in Section 8-4 of the RCGA Handicap System. The
categories are listed below.
-
Failure to
post scores;
-
Numerous away
scores change handicap factor;
-
Improve
faster than the system can react;
-
Temporary
disability;
-
Player
manipulates round;
-
Continued
violations of Section 5-1f (posting unacceptable scores)
The best way to keep your handicap
current is to follow the Play–Adjust–Post rule.

latest I can cancel my entry for a tournament?

the tournament. Failure to do so will result in you being billed for
the tournament.
Where do I check in on tournament day?

When must I
check in on tournament day?

Out of respect for
other members who show up on time and to ease the coordination efforts of
the tournament organizers, we request that you must check in at least 30
minutes before your tee-time. Failure to do so may result in the loss
of your entry in your pre-assigned group or tee-time.
The tournament
organizers reserve the right to nullify your entry if they deem it is
impossible to get you on the course in time for the start of the tournament
without affecting the tournament schedule.
If a playoff is not feasible, how are ties resolved?

In a
stroke-play competition, if a play-off of any type is not feasible,
matching score cards is recommended. The method of matching cards should
be announced in advance. An acceptable method of matching cards is to
determine the winner on the basis of the best score for the last nine
holes. If the tying players have the same score for the last nine,
determine the winner on the basis of the last six holes, last three holes
and finally the 18th hole. If such a method is used, one-half, one-third,
one-sixth, etc. of the Course Handicaps should be deducted from the score
for those holes. Fractions of one-half stroke or more should count as a
full stroke; any lesser fractions should be disregarded. If the conditions
of the competition provide that ties shall be decided over the last nine,
last six, last three, and last hole, then they should also provide what
will happen if this procedure does not produce a winner.
( RCGA
Handicap System: Section 9-5b(iii) )
If a playoff is feasible, what is the playoff
format?

In an event
where a playoff is feasible, the participants in the playoff will play the
18th hole on the Links course until a winner is produced.
Do I need to
enter my own score after a tournament?

all Men’s Club tournament scores will be entered and reviewed by the Men’s
Club Committee.
