Considering that Les was raised in Saskatchewan and I was raised in Alberta it seems appropriate that the heritage of our 1928 Phaeton also involves those two Provinces. The restoration and assembly process began when much of a mid-1928 chassis was dragged out from behind a barn in Grande Prairie, Alberta, but it wasn't until late 1999 that most of a mid-1928 Phaeton body to mate with it was discovered in a shed adjacent to a barn 60 miles north of Melfort, Saskatchewan. Coincidentally the date on the firewall read June 14th, 1928! Following its completion the car was first displayed in the 2001 NW Regional MAFCA Meet held in Post Falls, Idaho where it garnered a third place ribbon in the Touring Division. Since that time the car has been displayed in a number of Show-and-Shine events and parades, exhibited in the World of Wheels exhibition in Calgary, and participated in a number of Club (SCMAFC) activities. Most recently it has been used effectively to promote our "Paradise Valley" Par 3, 18 hole golf course in Med. Hat where we'd be pleased to touch base with any Club members who have occasion to visit this part of the Province! ....Dawn
