AA Truck Project - Body Mounting

March 12/05 - Report by Glenn Smith

The AA truck body to frame re-assembly session went quite well on Saturday March 12, with eight willing workers in attendence.  Our temporary cowl assembly, with fuel system and ignition was removed to allow for the installation of the body components.  Under the direction of our in-house technical expert (Murray Walkemeyer) we commenced the initial fitting of the fenders, splash pans and running boards.  After establishing a game plan on lifting the body into place on the frame,  and taking on a little refreshment,  it was time to make the move.  A few holes had to be re-drilled in the body which had inadvertently been welded closed at the body shop when the floor was repaired.  Considerable amount of work is still required on the truck,  which will allow our club members a chance to
participate in the project.
