Nouns

Pilovese nouns as with any nouns describe a person, place, thing, or idea. Nouns are classified under two genders, Masculine and Feminine. It is easy to associte these terms with sex (eg. male or female) but in grammatical terms, this refers simply to the way the noun endings were formed in older forms of the language. In the case of living things such as animals or humans, the masculine form will typically be associated with the male sex and the feminine with the female sex.

Articles

There are two definite articles which indicate either masculine or feminine. Each one has a separate plural form. Nouns are always modified by an article and never stand alone. The definite article corresponds to the English article "the."
