Friday 22nd March, 2002
Saturday 23rd March, 2002

Place Background
Jung's theory of consciousness provides 'lenses' we can use to explore dreams. Dreams can function as a symbol. Symbols can be walked around using these lenses that consciousness can bring to bear. The workshop is a combination of theory and application of theory in small group sessions.

What you can expect
On Friday evening a presentation will provide information about dream theory and Jung's typology. We will also establish ground rules for the working sessions on Saturday.

Saturday will consist of a morning and an afternoon working session. In each, participants will work thoroughly with a dream that one of the participants feels comfortable having the group work with. Each session will have as a facilitator a Jungian Analyst. The desired outcome is to bring meaning(s) of a dream closer to the dreamer. Using the lenses of Jung's typology can help us discover various meanings or hints of meanings that can be caught by the conscious mind. Time for large group interaction and discussion is also built into the workshop. A key aspect of the workshop is a safe confidential environment in which participants can voluntarily share and learn.

Who might be interested in attending?
  • professionals who work with client dreams as part of their practice
  • persons who tend to work with their own dreams
