Sheila Stewart Blair has been an active Registered Nurse since 1968 with experience in medical and rehabilitation nursing. Her education includes a Diploma in Nursing (Vancouver General Hospital, 1968), a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (University of Victoria, 1982) and a Master of Science in Nursing (University of British Columbia, 1988). The focus of her graduate studies was the rehabilitation of individuals with chronic illness and disability. She has been an independent Rehabilitation Consultant since 1992 and has conducted assessments of nearly eight-hundred individuals who have sustained various types of personal injury including multiple trauma, soft tissue, orthopedic, traumatic brain, spinal cord, and loss of limb. She has been qualified as an expert witness in the field of rehabilitation in the Supreme Courts of British Columbia and Saskatchewan. She is the founder of the South Vancouver Island Rehabilitation Professionals’ Network and a past-member of the Disability Advisory Committee for the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia.
