What is Sicamous All About?
Located halfway between Vancouver and Calgary on the Trans Canada Highway and connecting with Highway 97A, the community of Sicamous is divided by the channel which connects Mara Lake with the Shuswap lake system. A large portion of the town is on the banks of Mara lake. The waters are home to many species of fish and can be accessed by shore or boat. There are many fine beaches for boating, swimming, sun tanning, and marshmallows roasted over camp fires. There is no end to the recreational and social possibilities not only in the summer, but year round. Sports facilities are available for softball, soccer, hockey, curling, skateboarding, and ice skating. Sicamous is known for being the House Boat Capital of Canada, as well as its great hiking, annual attractions, snowmobiling, ferry rides, and beautiful weather.
