I'm Thinking Thneed is Lois Klassen's contribution to the Artist Block Project (Bill Thompson and the Avenue for the Arts.) For the Artist Block Project, Bill Thompson distributed numbered cedar blocks to artists with the instrucitons to alter and return. I'm Thinking Thneed is block #57.
As you can see, my block has become a Thneed making machine. It has provided me with a dull kind of comfort and meditation. I have used it to occupy my hands during those tough moments in family life: mostly after breakfast, when I instruct (OK, nag) the kids to brush their teeth, find socks, get lunch bags.... and then wait around for them to get those things done...
This activity brought many thoughts to my mind. Here are a few of them. (Click on the picture.)
