Kari Strutt

                                                                                                Kari was the only non-Newfoundlander in the band, prior to the                                                                                 addition of Calvin Befus as the group’s fiddler.   However, she                                                                        she does come from Winnipeg which, when you think about it, is                                                                          is really the Corner Brook of the prairies. An accomplished accomplished                                                        drummer, Kari started performing in folk inspired bands in the late                                                                        late 80’s. She’s played with The Mysterons, Kilgore Trout, Half the                                                                         the Sky, and Rogues Gallery. She’s found a happy home with                                                                       with Sleeveen, the only group who lets her be as loud as she wants                                                                    wants to be.  Her energetic drumming has taken Sleeveen’s sound                                                                   sound miles away from the boring 1-2 beat often heard in similar                                                                   similar Celtic Rock groups.  Her diverse drumming skills, coupled                                                                 coupled with her enthusiasm, humour, and positive outlook defines                                                                  personify the true image of Sleeveen.
