The Mo Morough Gallery

Mo Morough
1927 - 2003

Mo Morough was a great friend and supporter of the UCBC. She was a well-respected underwater photographer and a marine life enthusiast. Mo's personality would enrich or occasionally irritate the lives of others. However, she was held in such high esteem that the love and affection of her many friends was clearly demonstrated at The Vancouver Aquarium. The Memorium was "standing room only."

Before her death, Mo donated a series of photographs to the Underwater Council which were to be used to raise funds for our Mooring Buoy Project. We've posted those photos here for everyone to enjoy.

From Spirit... To Life... To Ocean... To Soul
By Glen Dennison

The Underwater World was your realm, your home

Through your eyes and photographs we experienced the pristine splendour of the ocean
Through your heart and passion we shared your love of diving
We are your family, and we understood your worship of the underwater world
Mo, we withstood your outer emotional defences:
Cantankerous, complaining, and almost ornery at times
But, never could you hide from us your warm, tender, ardent, and slightly lonely inner core
We lovingly endured you, and understood your soul
For you were one of us
Now you have departed, and we know where you have gone
Your spirit has merged with the ocean below us
Mo, we know where you are…
Diving… Diving…
Our Mo has gone diving; Our Mo has gone home

May you find peace and love there… For all of us, will always be with you.
