Here is a list of things on my site.
It's in a semi reverse chronological order, and may not ever
be completed. But I'm working on it slowly.
- Where's Al? Updated to August 7, 2003.
- frozenlightning.com
is my newest venture, selling opals and other gemstones via the internet.
Hopefully to make me fabulously rich and famous. Errr, maybe.
- There might be a link here soon for my time spent in Kashmir, April-December
2002.
- This link was supposed to be about
the 10 months I spent in Sudan, Africa, working as a Logistician with
MSF. But I haven't any pictures scanned in, and I haven't written
any text. So it's a collection of emails I sent out during that time.
More to come!
- Some thoughts and photos from my trip to Europe during the summer
of 2000. Holland is like a flat, flooded
Canada. Greece is hilly, with bits of marble
and ruins everywhere. And Italy - okay, Naples,
which is all I saw - is the land of cell phones. But each place needs
much longer than the month I had to explore.
- Some stuff from my 9 months in Guyana, South
America (as opposed to Ghana, Africa, which is where everyone
thinks I went), working with Youth Challenge
International.
- Sun, quiet, and good friends in Tobago
during a brief vacation after Ghana. Oops, I mean Guyana.
- Thoughts and pictures from Nicaragua,
where I went to work with Rob Bell of the Fair
Opportunities Group (FOG) for a month in 1996. It's a document
in Adobe Acrobat format, so you need to have Acrobat v3.0 or later
to read it. Click
here for a trip to the Adobe site to get it.
- Annoying stuff about my least-favourite city on the planet so far,
Guatemala City. You can read about why here.
- A brief tour of Cuba over New Years,
1997.
- A bit of stuff from Costa Rica, circa 1994.
Okay, I lied. It's not even started yet.
- Photos and stuff from the Solomon Islands,
where I went in 1993 for 10 weeks with Youth Challenge International. It's
short but gives you an idea of what I was doing there.
- An odd smattering of odd things that I thought
I'd annoy people with.
- Interesting Links to volunteer organisations,
NGOs, and whatever else I feel like putting here.
And, that's about it. Feel free to email me and harass me
about this thing, especially if you find yourself in a photo
on this site in a compromising position.
Add an underscore character "_" between "allan"
and "aoyama" and change the "at" to the familiar
@ sign to send me email. I'm getting rather a lot of shit email
these days and suspect this link is the reason...
