Elza - Our First Queen

Blue Mackerel Tabby
Born August 24, 2008

Elza Elza is our first breeding cat. She came to us in a box under the Christmas tree. After some time her origins were revealed to be those of the Wild Taiga Cattery in Czech Republic. Soon we realized that what we had on our hands was a blue mackerel tabby little aristocrat. She still remains the lady she was the first day we saw her. She is always a pleasure to have around the house and a great companion. We were not dissapointed when she had her first litter of kittens for she was as ideal a mother as one could image.

Melanie - Queen in Waiting

Brown Black Classic Tabby
Born February 12, 2010

  • TICA Champion
  • Best Siberian Classic Tabby in NW Region (2010-2011)
  • Second Best Siberian Kitten in NW Region (2010)

MelanieWe are very proud of Melanie. She is from our first litter here at Snowy Kitten. She has attended two shows already and on the second one (CanAm Richmond, Nov 2010) won herself a TICA Championship at her age of 8.5 months. Beside her beauty as a Siberian she also has a lovable personality. She adores to be pampered and is very friendly with people and our other pets.

Melanie has an excellent appetite enjoying salmon in particular. She is very well grown for her age, at 8 months she was almost 10 pounds, which is quite an achievement for young Siberian female. Her first litter is planned for Spring 2012 and we hope her kittens will be as lovely as she is.

Artemis

I cannot say it was love at first sight, for the birth had been very stressful and I have not paid attention to any particular kitten till the next day. Then I started to examine them more closely, their coats, built and personalities. Of course, they were all cute and fluffy, but soon I got more and more attached to Artemis. To me she represented what every kitten should be. I had not found one vice in her. I had wanted one more breeding female, so I decided to keep her right away (she will have her first litter in Spring 2012). When it came to naming the kittens I picked one of my favorite books: The Count of Monte Cristo. I had always liked the name Valentina, that was also one of the reasons for picking that particular book. But the name did not fit her. Since Artemis had always been very athletic (she remains our most athletic cat), I soon found a more than perfect name for her in the Greek goddess of the hunt. In the litter photos she remains billed as Valentina, but to us she is always Artemis.
