melrose ave march 2006
melrose
ave is a work
that represents
my experience
/
aesthetic
the ugly reality
that constantly
surrounds
us. it also
represents the
beauty
and magic of
symbolism
and meaning of
reflections from
the
material world
perceived through
a darkened glass
the fleur de lis
super imposed
on a
white
chariot
the curve
of this hidden cross,
coinciding with
a modern day
wheel,
the red body of
helpless man,
driven
and dragged by lust
and love, the exposed
heart, the olympics hat
worn by the canadians
and the red maple
leaf flag,
the white slash
of paint across the
frozen mouth and
eyes
representing
the inability to
see
or speak, the
symbol
of sex as a
commodity
and the
separation
of heart
from an act of love
