C A R T S

Registered charity CARTS brings food and clothing, love and compassion to the dozens of people who live on the streets of downtown Victoria. Once or twice each week, CARTS loads its growing fleet of carts with donated coats, toques, socks, sleeping bags and blankets, sandwiches, bananas, vegetable sticks, a seasonal beverage, cookies and other treats, and makes a circuit looking for cold and hungry people, at a time of day when most building-based aid agencies are not open.

A Cookie Team within the Parish supplies CARTS with famous home-made cookies. Each of these 115 mm diameter cookies is presented in a grease-proof envelope decorated with a bow and labeled with the baker's name.

CARTS has enjoyed regular participation by the UVic Student Ambassadors Association, the UVic Personal Development Club, and the Christian Reformed Church youth group. Interested groups from abroad have travelled to Victoria to see how CARTS works.
