STEWART.
STINSON
About the Artist
Born in Vancouver in 1974, the artist currently resides in Gibsons,
BC under the secret identity of Stewart Stinson. Disguised as a mild-mannered family man, he waits and trains in hiding as part of his long-term role in a complicated plot to achieve enlightenment, promote international peace, freedom, respect and justice for all, feed the hungry, heal the sick, comfort and uplift the downtrodden, save the Earth, maintain the balance of the cosmos and become one with the universe. Or some such thing.
Working with both oil and acrylics, he seeks to find the cosmic and microcosmic rhythm linking all things together. Once he finds that rhythm he follows it with his mind, studying the path it lays down with the stroke of a brush. He is a self taught painter, unless you count high school Art 11, for which, you will note, he won an award.
After infiltrating the private art collections of family and friends, he began to publicly exhibit his work in 2006 at the Gibsons Public Art Gallery “Water” and "Members of the Gallery" exhibits, the Gibsons “Communities in Bloom” summer street banner project, and the Gibsons Landing Salmon Festival/Gift of the Eagle gallery silent auction. His paintings are now in private collections in Canada, the U.S.A., New Zealand, and Bangladesh.
Having recently left a career as a federal government agent, he now devotes his time to caring for his two young sons and paints, when he can, scenes of classical contemporary West Coast impressionist psychedelic outsider folk art.
This is all true.
