Over the last 6 months the Townsend Road Committee has met (several times) with representatives from CASA, VIHA, and Hayworth Communities (operators of senior care facilities) to pursue the various possible methods of getting a new church and hall built on Townsend Road along with developing the balance of the Townsend Road property in a manner that serves the community well.

On Friday Sept 21 we received an initial proposal from Hayworth Communities.   They built and manage the Alexander Mackie Lodge on Station Road,  on land leased from the Legion.  They will be managing the Wail Road operation (created at the same time as, and similar to, CASA in Sooke) for the Queen Alexandra Foundation.  Our committee will be discussing this proposal with Vern McLeish and members of the diocesan building committee tomorrow (Monday) when they come out to see the Townsend Road property.

We will keep you posted as we progress further in our discussions with Hayworth.  If you'd like more information or have suggestions, please don't hesitate to talk with any of the committee members.
