These hairs are about 1/10 of a millimetre thick, or 100 times thicker than the crosses on a genuine Reseau plate. I made no attempt to replicate the NASA cross-hair pattern since I wasn't trying to calibrate anything. The sloppy X pattern was just my way of ensuring a few hairs would pass over (or behind?) the white places.
Here you can see hairs seemingly burrow behind the building's white panels, then re-emerge over the darker areas. Some lines merely thin out, which shows they are not "behind" the wall at all.
