Getting there.
If you are familiar with Vancouver Island you may know that Nanaimo is serviced by nine different ferry routes, three through Vancouver BC, one from northern BC, one from the Sunshine Coast and four from US ports (Port Angeles, Anacortes and Seattle, Washington) connecting through Victoria BC. There are land and sea plane routes to most of the Island.
Nanaimo is 110 km (70 miles) north of Victoria by road or about 40 km (25 miles) from Vancouver by ferry.
