All horses to run on these tracks must have a
Qualifying work with Arabians having a 5-second allowance to the
Thoroughbreds qualifying times.
Racing days have been set for the 2003 season beginning
May 25 at Kamloops and ending September 7th. The purses will
average $2000 added per race. If anyone wishes to continue racing their
horses after our season ends the state of Washington will include Arabian
races starting September 26th and ending December 21 at the
Cleopatra Downs, Playfair Race Course in Spokane, Washington. The purses
will average $3000 U.S to $5000 U.S
There is a great need for more owners and horses to be
involved. The Kamloops and Vernon tracks will offer more than one race per
day if there are enough horses to fill the gates. It is preferred the
maidens not run with the seasoned horses, however with a pool of only 15
horses to draw from it has to be allowed.
The horse must be three years of age, have gate
approval and a qualifying workout. This can be arranged at the track. The
gallop persons and the trainer must be licensed. This can be arranged by
becoming an assistant trainer under a current trainer in good standing at
the track, or if already a licensed trainer, showing the stewards your
license.
A working horse will need at least two months galloping
to be fit. A three-year-old will need twice that or more under saddle. .For
