Sunny Hill is located on the south side of Francois Lake, in the geographical center of British Columbia and the heart of the Lakes District, in British Columbia, Canada.

Location:
Francois Lake, with it's crystal clear water, is situated 25 km south of Burns Lake on Highway 35 and is one of the largest natural lakes in British Columbia. The lake is approximately 120 km long and up to 300 meters deep. There is good fishing from spring to fall. Rainbow trout, up to 1.8kg (4 pounds) are abundant and lake trout [char] up to 13.6kg (30 pounds) are being caught. In winter ice fishing is a possibility.
The lake offers great opportunities for boating and canoeing and other water sports. The peaceful surroundings are great for hiking and game watching. Black bears, deer, moose, coyotes and eagles can often be observed right from your windows. Sunny Hill is a great place to relax and enjoy the great outdoors in a quiet and private setting. Once you have witnessed one of our spectacular sunrises you may even agree that it is worthwile getting up early.
The Guesthouse:
The guesthouse is nestled between trees on top of a hill and offers spectacular views of the lake and surrounding area, yet it is only 300 m from the lakeshore. Sunny Hill is ideally suited for two people but can readily accomodate two additional persons. The guesthouse is comprised of an open living area and a fully equipped kitchenette with fridge/freezer and a 4-burner electric stove, a bedroom that sleeps two people and a loft which can easily sleep an additional two persons. When the guesthouse is only occupied by two persons the loft is a great place to relax.
You can also enjoy the outdoor deck for barbecuing or to simply sit back and enjoy the peaceful and tranquil surroundings.

How to find Sunny Hill:
Burns Lake is reached via Highway 16. From there take Highway 35 which will lead you to the Francois Lake Ferry. A ferry ride of approximately 20 minutes takes you to Southbanks which is located at the south side of Francois Lake. Once you leave the ferry continue on the road to Grassy Plains. Once you reach the Grassy Plains Country Store turn right on Tatalrose Road. Follow Tatalrose Road for 19 km and turn right on Wilson Road. After about 800 meters you will have arrived at Sunny Hill which is located on the right side of the road.

- Day trips to Babine and Nadina Lakes, Pinkut Creek, around Francois Lake etc.
- Hiking trips to Nadina Mountain, Nourse Creek, Cheslatta Falls etc.
- Play golf at one of the golf courses in the area.
- Explore agate and fossil beds.
- View bear, moose and deer in their habitat.
- Fish for salmon and steelhead in the surrounding area.
- In winter: cross country skiing and snow shoe hiking.
We can also arrange hunting trips for moose, bear or deer with one of the local outfitters.
Trips into Tweedsmuir Park by plane, with overnight accommodations, can also be arranged.
The possibilities for outdoor activities are virtually unlimited and will depend on your particular areas of interest.
