Chinook : Distinguished from other salmon by it's black gums, spotted tail, it has a lightly spotted blue-green back and silver body. The largest and most prized game fish, the chinook lives from 3 to 7 years and can reach weights in excess of 60 lbs. Average size chinooks (under 30 lbs,) are known in B.C. as Springs. Those over 30 lbs. are called Tyees, in the U.S., chinook are call king salmon.

Coho : White gums, black tongues and a few spots on the upper portion of their tail, distinguish the coho salmon from the others. Bright silver with a metallic blue dorsal surface, coho usually live for 3 years. they weight 3 to 30 lbs. Average size being 6 to 12 lbs. Coho salmon are also called Slivers in the U.S.

Sockeye : Prominent glassy eyes, and almost toothless, the silver blue sockeye lives from 4 to 5 years. Weighing between 4 to 8 lbs. with some reaching as much as 12lbs. the sockeye has bright red flesh and one of the best tasting salmon.

Pink : Pink salmon have large spots on their tail and have very small scales. They are the smallest of the salmon species ranging up to 10 lbs and are abundant only in odd- numbered years in our local waters

Pink season: August through September

Chum : Resembling the sockeye, but much larger, chum salmon have faint vertical bars on their silvery sides. They live 3 to 5 years and weigh 8 to 12 lbs. with some reaching up to 30 lbs.

Chum season: October through November
France: saumon keta, Germany: Hundslachs, Ketalachs, Japan: sake, shake
Halibut : Up to 200 lbs
Halibut Season: February through April

Lingcod : Up to 40 lbs.
Lingcod season: June through September

Rock cod : Up to 8 lbs.
Rock cod season: All Year

Other species of bottom fish in our area, Greenling, Yellow eye (red snapper) Flounder, Sole, Sculpin and Mud sharks
Wildlife you can expect to see while enjoying your fishing trip include: Seals, Doll Porpoise, Eagles, Otters, Sea Lions, And sometimes even a pod of Orcas.
