OPENING PRAYERS
gajananam bhuta ganadhi sevitam
kapitha jambhu phala sara bhakshanam
uma sutam shoka vinasha karakam
namami vighneshwara pada pankajam
I prostrate to the lotus feet of Lord Vighneshwara, the elephant-headed one, who is served by the spirits and the servants (of Lord Siva), who relishes the essence of the Kapitha and Jambu fruits, who is the son of Uma, and the destroyer of all sorrow.
mangalam bhagavan vishnuh
mangalam garuda dhwaja
mangalam pundarika aksha
mangalayatan harih
May auspiciousness be unto Lord Vishnu. may all auspiciousness be unto Garuda (the Eagle, King of all Birds) who rides the flagstaff of the Lord. May all auspiciousness be unto the Lord with lotus-like eyes. That Lord Hari is (the seat of) all auspiciousness.
