Sivananda ashram aarti


 

Om rajadhirajaya prasahya sahine

namo vayam vai sravanaya kurmahe

same kaman kamaa kamayaa mahyam

kameswaro vai sravano dadaatu

kuberaaya vai sravanaya maharaj-aya namah

Om. To that great King of kings, full of strength and valour (Who is omnipotent), Who is obtainable by listening (to scriptures), to Him, we are prostrating. He, Who is the giver of all auspiciousness and fulfiller of all wishes, may such Lord bless us.

 

Om na tatraa suryo-bhati naa chandra taarakam

nema vidyuto bhanti kutoyam agnih

tameva bhantam anubhati sarvam

tasya-bhaasaa-sarvam-idam vibhaati

There the sun does not shine nor the moon, nor the stars, nor these lightning, much less this fire. When He shines, everything shines after Him. By His Light, all this is illuminated

gange ca yamunaa caiva

godaavari saraswati

sindhu kaaverii

namas tubhyam namo namah

Prostrations to you O Mother Ganga, Yamuna, Godavari, Saraswati, Narmada, Sindhu and Kaveri; prostrations to you all again and again.

 

Om swasthi prajaabhyaah paripala yantam

nyaayena margenaa mahim maheeshaa

go brahma-nebhyaah shubham astu nityam

loka samastha sukhino bhavantu

May peace and auspiciousness be unto all beings. May the king rule the earth in all righteousness (according to dharma and truth). May auspiciousness be unto all, cows and Brahmins. May all the worlds be happy.

kale varshatu parjanyaaha

prithvi sasyaa syalini

deshoyam kshobh rahito

brahmanah santu niraabayaah

Let the rains come in a timely manner and fill the earth with plenty and abundance. Let the country be without any trouble. May the Brahmins and Saints live in peace, without any fear of persecution.

 

asubani niraa chaste

taanoti shubha santatim

smrti maatrena yat punsaam

brahmaa tan mangalam param

Let there not be any inauspiciousness. May Brahman, the Supreme Being bless mankind with good children and grant all auspiciousness.

ati kaalyana rupatvat

nitya kaalyana sanshrayat

smartrunam varacat vaaca

brahman tan mangalam viduuh

That which has an extremely auspicious appearance, Which is the eternal source of al auspiciousness, Which grants the wishes (of all those) who meditate upon It, know that Brahman as all auspiciousness.

 

Om karas ca atha sabdasca

dwave tu brahmanah puura

kaantham bhitva viniryatav

tasmaat mangalika vibhau

Om atha Om atha Om atha

In the beginning, it is said, that the two sounds ‘Om’ and ‘Atha’ (now) came from (the throat of) Brahman and therefore, they are auspicious.

mangalam asmat gurunaam

mangalam me astu

sarveshaam mangalam bhavatu

May auspicious be unto our Masters, may auspiciousness be unto myself as well, may auspiciousness be verily unto all.
