Kanetada Katana
This sword is signed Nydo Kanetada Kore Wo, or lay priest Kanetada made this sword.
This sword is from the later Shinshinto or early gendaito period.
The katana is a big powerful blade with a nagasa of 66.5 cm and a total length of 86.2 cm.
The width at the machi is 3.3 cm and at the yokote 2.3 cm.
It has a flowing masame hada with some o-hada mixed in. The o-kissake has a hakekake boshi with a small turn back and is very well done.
It is tempered with a tight gunome midare in nie decki with sunagashi and kinsugi in the hataraki and is well done.
The sword is mounted with a gold habaki in tiger tail shirasaya and is in very good recent polish.
