Menuhin is a 1998 Canadian bred Irish Sport Horse by Sea Crest*, the sire of Cruising, one of the best show jumpers of the last decade. His dam is a Kentucky bred TB who never raced, but whose parents were winners. See some short "YouTube" video clips of Menuhin and some of his progeny below.
Menuhin stands 16.2hh, and has a very fine presence, good movement, with an exceptional canter, excellent athletic ability and typically Irish Horse calm temperament. He started his show jumping career in 2003 with Amy, winning the novice horse championship at his first show away from home. Since Amy died he has been in training with Canadian Equestrian Team member Karen Cudmore, down in Omaha, Nebraska. He has been to a few shows down in the USA, where he has aquitted himself well, and Karen & Blair are now planning to bring him with them to Spruce Meadows in March 2006 and then on to Brandon for the Royal Manitoba Winter Fair.
He has proven fertility, with eight foals on the ground including one by frozen semen. See some of his progeny at Tadpole Farm.
