Billboard Look Out

This structure came to mind when I found the large weapons notice sign while looking for industrial ones online. I love a good ironic atmosphere and thought the sign would be perfect in a city fully occupied by armed, warring troops.

This building is really just a fortified scaffold to hold up the Billboard. It provides an elevated position on two levels to make the game more intresting, and can be combined with some walkways or something to actually join it to other structures if desired.

The bulk of this building, like many others I make, was corrugated cardboard. The cross-beams are plastic coffee stir sticks, the rivets are 3mm 1/2 round beads.

I opted not to base it so it would better fit in with whatever table I want it on from urban to desert or jungle... It can easily fit into any theme (especially damp environments due to the ample rust / grime washes).

The barbed / razor wire, seen here in this good closeup pic, was made from nylon window screen mesh. It's been wrapped around 1/3 of the inside piece of a plastic hair curler.

The ladder was made with one bamboo skewer cut to size, glued to the side, then rungs made from pieces of paper clips were added with CA (crazy glue). The structure is 3" wide x 2" deep x 9" tall (without the sign on top).
The materials cost about 50 cents (Canadian) in total... no ink this time so all the rust was custom mixed paint (a little brown, a lot of red, a little bronze, some tan). This project is a great looking and super cheap way to fill out a table, making the game more intresting with atmosphere, and different levels.

Just for their clarity and as a refrence, I decided to keep these individual pictures of the signs used here.
They can be found (with many others) on the Terrain Accessories page.
