Capitol is one of the origonal five megacorporations once founded on earth. Mixing business and politics in one giant conglomerate, Capitol was derived from north america. Their airforce and military forces are well trained and loyal. One branch of Capitol's military, the Free Marines, are pulled from the ranks of convicted inmates, given a chance to redeem themselves and join society with the full rights of a Capitolian citizen after completing a tour of duty equal to their assigned prison term.

I don't usually play Capitol, so I don't have many of the Capitol mini's. The only one I bought, I had the urge to kit bash into a replica of these scenes from the WarZone books.

My Kit bashed Mitch Hunter has had one leg cut from his base and bent forward into a kicking position. The sword was meant to be slung from his back but has been mounted in his hand in place of a grenade I filed down and off.

The figure has been mounted on a large wad of paper towel dipped in PVA Glue and draped over a cardboard frame that was in turn mounted to the base - an AOL cd.

I dismantled an old hero quest game set, looting it for the skeleton, zombie, and some mummies. I modified the figures (which are just right for 25 / 28mm figures) by holding them over a low heat until I could bend them into the poses I wanted. One of the legion troops is from the old Mutant Chronicles game Siege of the Citadel.

Extra bits and weapons were eaither scratch built or pulled from my bits boxes and applied to the legion troopers using PVA or CA glue, or in some cases melted on. The spikes coming from the ground are offcuts from circular toothpicks I've used in other kit bashing projects.

The entire figure was painted flat black then finished with standard drybrushing and painting tech. I experimented with colour mixing and layering in a few of the legion troops, especially the melting one. It turned out great and I couldn't be happier with the results.
believe it or not: while finishing the painting I cut myself and used some of the blood on the curved swords, it dries to a color unachievable with inks or washes of any kind I could achieve.
