About Us

  Welcome to Torlan Tollers!

Our love for Tollers began in 1995 when we began our search for the best family pet for our active household.  Since then, we have become involved in conformation, competitive obedience, agility, and some field training.  Current interests include Toller genetics/health, and research on canine nutrition and vaccine related issues.  We believe that proper nutrition, physical and mental well being, and limiting stresses on the immune system (medications and over vaccination) help to ensure a long and healthy life for our family pets.  As such, our puppies are all placed in active loving homes that will continue with a healthy diet to build a strong immune system and limit the amount of unnecessary vaccinations that the dog will receive during its lifetime.

At Torlan, we are breeding for the all round versatile Toller. Our dogs are foremost family pets and loving companions and so we know the importance of a family pet that is healthy and happy. Even though we breed conformation champions, dogs titled in agility, field and obedience, our main concern remains focused on health and temperament.

As Tollers are a high energy dog, we look for homes that will be able to meet the needs of this breed through exercise, training and socialization.  We carefully interview and choose the right homes for each of our puppies.

For that reason, litters that come from our kennel are carefully planned, cared for and socialized, in hopes of turning out Tollers that the Toller community can be proud of. Litters are occasional.

We are located on 15 acres, and the dogs share their domain with our active family which includes 3 older teenagers, several cats and two horses.  We do not have a kennel facility building, as all of our Tollers are family pets and live in the house with us.

All breeding stock is OFA hip certified, CERF and PRA DNA blood test eye cleared, OFA heart checked and thyroid tested.

We remain available to all of our owners for the life of their dog, to provide assistance on any/all aspects of owning a Torlan Toller - diet, health care, behavioral/training problems

Torlan Tollers Owners Group (TTOG) is our Yahoo chat group that is only for those people who own and love a Torlan Toller.  It is where owners can share stories, talk about training, health or behavioural issues, share photos and get to know other families that have one of our dogs.
This group is by invitation only.

Tollers are wonderful 'little red dogs' that are one of four truly Canadian dog breeds. They are known for their excellent temperament, unbridled enthusiasm, amazing intelligence and comical antics. These maniac redheads are not necessarily the right breed for every household, so be sure to educate yourself on the pros and cons of owning one before deciding that this is the right dog for you.  Check out the rest of our site and then for more photos and information, visit some of the great sites we have linked to (see Toller Links).
